Much of his music was composed in our family home in the town of Menai Bridge on the beautiful island of Anglesey, and our house was also mission control when he was planning his Music Festival. Under his directorship (1972 - 1992), the Festival quickly acquired a reputation for exciting programmes, high performance standards, and for being cosmopolitan as well as national in character.
